Here is my poster design. I wasn't in class today because I was sick so I would really appreciate the feedback. Thanks in advance.

Design Strategy:
To design a poster for the Yoakum Chamber of Commerce Tom-Tom Festival Concert that will attract interest in the event and market the event in the hope of attracting widespread crowds from different age demographics. Prime age range is from 13-55 years. Budget parameters set forth by the client were unclear and the seemed willing to use whatever. Color, size, and deadline were not issues.
I desired to create an effective poster that would draw viewers in. Something that was contemporary, but also sophisticated. I wanted the audience to see the poster and think music and fun.
Fonts:
I used Gloucester MT Extra Condensed for the header type and Gill Sans for the detailed information.

I really like your design! The texture of the background is really interesting, and I like how some of the sharp edges seem to stick off the side of the poster. I like the earth-tone color scheme, and how the guitar is not all one color. By adding the cowboy hat to the top of the guitar, gestalt is created because your eyes are drawn down to the type. The last two words on your poster (Papa Distributing)get lost because of the dark background, so maybe if you lighten up the background in those two areas, the readability of the line of text would be better. Also, what exactly is the event for? Is it just a free concert for the sheer purpose of having a free concert, or is the Chamber of Commerce sponsoring this concert for a reason? If there is a reason, try to make that more clear in the poster so people know what the event is for, and might be more inclined to come if it is benefiting a good cause. I like your font choices, but I think you should have a bolder and louder font for the headline. "Park in the Park night" should stand out more than it does because it is really strong! Overall, great job!
