I am very passionate about animals and have always admired the work that ASPCA does- therefore the idea for my poster wasn't the hard part. I came up with the headline after looking at a picture of my Toy Maltese, Gucci (used in this poster).The design was the hard part for me because I could not get the images and ideas I had in my head- onto paper/computer. Also, the colors often came out looking too dark or simply unattractive...
The colors used in the headline and the information text are drawn from the ASPCA logo and the images of leaves are scanned from an old folder that my roommate was throwing out. I felt like without them, the poster looked incomplete- and being that the ASPCA volunteer event is in November- I found the leaves quite fitting.
I am still not completely satisfied with how the dog looks- the editing of that picture took up more time than I had planned for and he always printed in some sort of a blue tone from the shadows. Therefore, I made him grayscale, but still I think his "fluffiness" looks kind of jagged...
All in all, I am happy that I did something for ASPCA and feel like I did not stray too far from the company's "image."
