Design Strategy:
My design for the poster project was based on an event from home, the Westmoreland Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast. Since they were actually going to be used, my intended audience was the students and faculty at my old high school. I didn’t have any limitations really since I could use full color, but I did have to convert the poster into an 8x10 so they could print it off back at school. My goal was to design a poster that made you want to go to the breakfast, while still getting right to the point on it’s time, location, and price. I wanted it to be clear and precise and very readable since most people would be passing it by on their way between classes. I have already sent it to my old Key Club advisor and she said she loved it and they are already being hung around school, so I am glad that I could help them out while also completing a project at the same time.
I really like your poster design! The typeface really works with your visual and is so visually appealing (my mouth is watering). I also like your colors and how they reflect the natural colors of the pancakes and the syrup. The information has visual hierarchy which is important because you don't have that much space (because your visual is so large). Overall, nice job and I am also glad that this design is being used at your high school!
ReplyDeleteThis is a great design. The fact that the headline is dripping into the pancakes makes the hierarchy of the poster very definite. I like how the information is grouped together to make it easier to read. The poster has a diagonal pull which is interesting to the eye. Overall great job!!
