My favorite magazine, Lula, uses the gestalt theory with color very simply. The text on the cover connects directly with the corresponding image by sharing a bold color of the image. This associates the image with the title of the magazine while the title still stands out as a bold solid word. The repetition of the color leads one's eye around the page while emphasizing certain areas of focus. The concept and feel of the color is immediately comprehended by the viewer. The title is always positioned in a fairly neutral colored area of the cover to stand out as well. By using the a definitive color throughout the cover creating a relationship between the image and the text, the cover is unified.
