This magazine spread is a good example of gestalt color principles and theory. They use the white space to actually spell out the letters, so the lack of color amongst all the bright colors make it stand out. The orange colors of the other letters also stand out against the spring colors, and it still matches the strip of orange towards the top so it all matches. The colors all flow together in a light spring time color scheme. The red sprinkles also draw the eye immediately, and then it causes the reader to read the title/rest of the spread of the magazine. The large amount of yellow is also associated with joy and happiness, so the reader is attracted to the spread, and drawn in.
