Week 6: Allure of Color: Alyssa Hillman

This advertisement for Dot N Dot graphic design company uses both color and fundamental gestalt principles.
The colors used in the ad are all warm colors (being yellow, red and white). Also the colors are high intensity with little to no saturation. These vivid colors also attempt to reflect the attitude of the graphic design company. When I see this ad, I think that they are a fresh company with new and "jumpy" ideas. This is what I think they wanted to they succeeded on that level.

Gestalt principle wise, the colors were used as a boundary for the jumping figure. They also used the colors to play on the rule of similarity and that our eyes automatically place colors together as whole figures.
