(I've been having trouble trying to post this in the right colors, which is why it was late. I don't know why it's just printing in blue)
Design Strategy:
My event is a philanthropy broomball tournament for my fraternity, Delta Chi. As a member of the group planning the event, I knew that we as a fraternity would want our colors and letters evident on the poster. So I formed our letter Chi, an ‘X,’ with four traced broomball sticks to associate our letters with the event. I also used a Delta, or a triangle, behind the ‘X.’ Additionally, the poster features our fraternity colors, red and buff, along with a faded yellow background. The six round balls on the page’s bottom half represent the balls used for broomball, and they help guide the reader from the name of the event to the contact info to sign up.
The intended audience is students and other fraternities or sororities that would sign up. By using Delta Chi’s letters on the poster, other fraternity and sorority members can immediately associate this event with Greek life. Broomball is also quite a popular sport among students. The all-caps font (Copperplate) at the top of the poster easily catches the reader’s attention, while the smaller font with all the event’s info (Tahoma) is simple for the reader to view.
