
This is a perfect example of bad kerning used for irony within itself. Because the space between the "r" and the "n" of the word kerning on the shirt, it looks like "keming matters" instead of "kerning matters." Quite often, some letters in different font faces end up being too close to each other, even touching, by default. Adjusting the kerning in these cases increases legibility and clarity of the text. This t-shirt points out how much kerning can effect the meaning of a word or series of text.
