Binta Jammeh- On what planet would this be appealing?

I don't mean to sound harsh, but this is a real piece of work.

To start, the layout of the page is horrendous. There is so much tackiness, from the color scheme (which takes away from even looking to what the ad says) to the randomly thrown party decorations all over the page, that I don't even know where to begin analyzing the ad. If the funny looking squiggles in the back are meant to serve as some sort of margin/border for the the main set of typography, they clearly failed. Both the F and S hop over, and not in an appealing way.

Moving on to the type, it is difficult to read. I can make out Foodworks, but I have no clue what it says underneath it. The type has clearly been tampered with because the width of the letters and the spaces between them are all unequal. The shadowing of the letters does nothing but add to the tackiness! Then, the random star to the side that describes what it is the ad is attempting to sell utilizes a simple sans serif font, but the fact that it is thrown into an already mad sea of randomness just adds to the craziness of the layout. (Also, what is up with the kangaroo)?

Not only does this add fail in its use of typography, but the design fails epically as well. A more appealing, more readable novelty font, a more workable and esthetically pleasing color scheme, a CENTRAL point to grab the reader in a positive way, and more symmetry in the add would surely improve it. This is a piece of work that needs to be scrapped and redone...completely!
