I think this advertisement in Ms. Magazine is very effective. The bold, sans serif headline is very effective because of the alignment and leading. The center alignment creates a hierarchy within the headline, but also with the headline as a unit of type. It creates almost an arrow to the last line which says "really sucks." The "really sucks" then ties into the image, which also directs the reader to the word sucks. The headline is also leaded so that it remains a strong unit by not being too far apart. The alignment and leading really convey the message of the advertisement. The subhead, which is then in a smaller, serif font, gets the reader involved by providing a call to action. It also fits within the hierarchy because, while it is still center aligned like the headline, it is in a smaller font.
