Chinese Graphics: Alyssa Hillman

Ever since I was little, I loved the Chinese culture and design. I came across this intriguing yet somehow unsettling portrayal of modern and traditional Chinese society combined in one. The dark yellow color choice, in my opinion, does not complement the overall graphic, but is used as a primary color of Chinese culture. Also, the depth and contrast between the black and the ornate pattern is fascinating and gives the illusion of them twisting into one. I also appreciate how the graphic is mainly symetrical which helps stablize the eye. What do you think?
