Design strategy:I designed my resume mainly around my wordmark. I wanted to keep it open and as clean as possible while being creative at the same time. I hope to appeal to future employers in the magazine business so I wanted my resume to appear edgy yet sophisticated.
Choice of typefaces:
I chose to use Kabel Lt Std in a light weight for my wordmark and headers because its geometrical sans serif style gives it a modern look. I wanted a typeface with longer stems as well. I made my last name in all caps to contrast my first name and to fit under it neatly. For my body text I used Universe because it was a versatile family and seemed to go well with Kabel.
Color:
I used pink in the "i" of my first name and in the "i's" in each section, as well as in the headers and the border running down the page. I liked how the pink contrasted with the black and chose the "i" to represent a sort of independent-ness of my name (R: 247, G: 6, B: 106).
