Effective Type in Advertisement: Garnier

While perusing the Daily Orange online, I saw the Garnier ad embedded below.

The designer(s) of this ad have constructed an effective ad not only with visuals, but more importantly with the text. Lupton writes that the viewer need hierarchy in their viewing, a way to follow along through the layout, book, etc. At first glance, I am imediately drawn to the 'HOLD' in the ad. The use of a sans serif font with a color pulled from the shampoo bottle gives the advertisement fluidity and most importantly conveys that the products will 'HOLD'. In addition, I appreciate the designer's choice of selecting a left justify. In a way I think the left justification helps to lead me to the product. I know the woman's eye-line accomplishes that task, but I believe the choice of left justification only strengthens that aspect.
