Website Post

A website that I use often is the website for SU's own The Daily Orange. I visit this a lot because I am a columnist at the house and enjoy staying up to date with what's going on in the SU community. The functionality of this website is great.

First of all, all the traditional newspaper sections you would find in print appear on their website as well. News, Feature, Opinion, Sports and my pesonal favorite, Splice, are all located as links just under the DO logo.

Another great point of functionality for the DO website is sidebar located to the right of the screen. Here, you can easily find which stories are a.) the most e-mailed about, b.) the most commented on, and c.) the most popular. I love this function. It lets me know exactly what SU students care about that the DO is reporting on.

The last great function of the DO website is the video player it has located on it's homescreen.  Unfortunately, this player is not shown on the screen shot because as much as I love my mac, the screen is so tiny! But this video player lets you see a video from either the News, sports or opinion section. I like this because it's always nice to break up reading with a video or two, especially if those videos chat about how great the SU basketball team did last night!
