Week 13: Hierarchy - Jordan Clifford

I like TeenVogue's website because it's easy to use and has everything that an avid TeenVogue reader would want. There are links to fashion blogs, exclusive offers and the last issue's details. The last issue featured Dakota Fanning on the cover, so in this screen shot teenvogue.com has a scrolling screen section with exclusive videos, photos, and extra's from the cover-shoot. And as you scroll down there are articles, chances to win free stuff, stylescopes, runway info, and the table of contents for the latest issue.

As far as being lead through the content the fist thing I see is the TeenVogue headline - backed in red to draw your eye. Then I skim the navbar which is easy to read and very forward. Moving down the page I see the scrolling screen about Dakota - which I think is an ingenious use of space because it adds in extra content and doesn't keep their homepage static or boring. Then I move on to the articles and sidebar info.

Their containers are very useful and evenly displayed. Their center display holds the scrolling screen as well as article options. The left side has all of their top stories, free stuff, info about "the girl of the week," their stylescope and table of contents. Then the right side has ads, teen vogue promos, as well as a list of the articles that are most viewed/commented on, their facebook page, and artists and actors of interest. And of course there are plenty of chances to subscribe all over the page.

Overall I really like this website. The colors and typefaces are fashionable, easy to read and and the whole layout is very user friendly, kudos to TeenVogue.
