Week 1 Post- Bad Type

The typeface used on Ashlee Simpson's "Bittersweet World" album is a perfect example of Bad Type. The type is inconsistent throughout its letters. The thickness throughout the letters varies way too much. The thick "B" and top of the "T" in "Bittersweet" contrasted with the thinness of the rest of the letters leads the eyes to places that aren't supposed to attract attention. Instead of looking at the word "bittersweet" as a whole, but rather viewers look at the individual letters.

Another problem with this typeface is that the top of the A and the bottom of the W is cut off. This makes no sense and doesn't look appealing. It also just adds to the choppiness of the font.
