Jen Brotman- Honest to Blog

Going into this course I did not have high expectations of myself and I was unsure as to whether I would enjoy the class. I took COM 200 last semester, which I could have petitioned to replace graphics, but I chose not to because I heard it was a good and necessary class. After taking the course, I definitely agree. I think it was challenging but worth it. I think it is necessary to be knowledgeable in the CS4 Suite and I feel that I learned a good amount. I also think that the projects assigned were useful assignments. I have already used my redesigned resume and will most likely be using my poster for the actual event next year.

I also surprised myself by doing well on the projects. This course also taught me better time management. I was also surprised at how much I enjoyed the class because I thought there would not be much to do during lecture because everything is on the computer, but I never felt bored in class. I think I may have liked more time as a class in the computer lab though. I think the only way to really learn these computer programs is to practice. I felt like sometimes when I would get to practicing and starting my projects, that that is when I had questions and a lot of times I was not with my lab instructor. Even if I could have used more lab help, I felt that the approachability of both IA and professor were really helpful.
